I leave tomorrow!

My Thanksgiving will be spent touring New Zealand with friends from Australia. Monika and Anna are attending a wedding in the North Island and I will be meeting up with them following that. I leave on the 18th and will be staying with Jenna until the 22nd. Seems like Jenna has a lot planned for that short period, I can’t wait! On the 22nd I will meet up with Monika, Anna and their friend Clare to start touring the South Island. We are going to get in some of the sites from Lord of the Rings. The three of us will be returning on the 30th. I am so EXCITED!


Fun Fact #8 : Movies take FOREVER to be released over here. Last Friday was the opening night for the Time Travelers Wife.

The first Tuesday in November is always the Melbourne Cup. The Melbourne Cup is a horse race, known as the race that stops the nation. Before work we shared in a glass of champagne as we waited to see whose horse would win the race. After being the in the lead for the majority of the race, my horse came in dead last, so out of pity I got my money back. It last all of 2/3 minutes but it is a huge part of Australia’s identity.
